Okay, so I just found out today that our "hurricane" was in fact a tropical storm. Who knew? You would never have known it by the way the family was calling and holding themselves back from calling. I talked to almost everyone more than once, including Frederick and Gangee. They kept asking if I was floating. Delivering babies in a tropical storm just doesn't sound as good as a hurricane (even if I do fess up that it's not so bad). So, for the record no babies and hurricanes yet. That whole deal did remind me of playing tennis in the snow when it wasn't that cold out. Anyway... Speaking of sounding unimpressive, this morning in Next Step (the middle school sunday school) we had to go around and say something spectacular that happened this week. I could not think of anything. Then Gram said that they had gotten an new island (you know, the cabinet kind in the kitchen). I high fived him because I knew how they have been talking about that for a while and looking. Then, I got excited and said, "oh, yeah, I did have something cool. I got a new AC!" Gram was then excited for me and said, "That's Huge!" We were enjoying each other's genuine excitement for the other. Then, I realized that to middle schoolers we sounded really old. I apologized and warned that how what you get excited about changes when you get older. So much for first impressions!
